The idea

Since June 15th 2010, situated in the middle of the historic centre of Prato and sheltered between the fourteenth century walls and the medieval battlements, there has been a new place to shop and it’s called OPIFICIOJm.

Sitting along the same path that the Medicean troops used to secretly pass through, OPIFICIOJm is named after the famous American actor and director John Malkovich who put down his roots in Prato and now designs his own clothing line Technobohemian.

OPIFICIOJm brings together consumers and creative local Tuscan products. It is a place full of promise, based on craft and in harmony with the greatest traditions of our local culture.

OPIFICIOJm is fashion. It is a collection of local businesses dedicated to creating original and high quality products exclusively for our new brand. Working with Tuscan craftsmen allows the store to support local businesses and, with minimal transport, also helps the environment.

Since opening its first store in Prato, selling local products to local people, OPIFICIOJm is now going worldwide.

OPIFICIOJm is art. Its space is open for any events; cultural events, performing arts, exhibitions, scenographics, multimedia presentations and modern art. Its eclectic range of events are suited to a spectrum of cultural tastes.

OPIFICIOJm is a community for consumers looking to meet in a friendly space.

OPIFICIOJm is gastronomy. Its exquisite lunch and dinner menu is available every day. There is even a private room for special occasions.
OPIFICIOJm is a brand consisting of forty craftsmen and their beautiful products are displayed over 600 square metres. Here, it is possible to find food, furniture, pret-a-porter, jewellery, ceramics, metal goods and glassworks. Its single goal; to promote local business in Prato and the surrounding area of Tuscany.
